Police Explorer Post
Springfield Township Police Department, in conjunction with The Boy Scouts of America, sponsors a law enforcement explorer program. This program is open to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21. The program provides training and education to the members in dealing with all aspects of police work. Members of our Explorer Post meet weekly to learn and practice police procedures along with traffic stops and felony stops.
The Explorer Post competes annually in a competition sponsored by The Boy Scouts of America to demonstrate their efficiency in a number of judged scenarios. Several past members of our Explorer Post have gone on to a career in law enforcement. Five officers currently with Springfield Township Police Department were former members of our Explorer Post.
Explorers meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
If you are a young adult Township resident interested in participating in the Explorer Post program, please contact the Police Department at 729-1300.
