About Parks & Recreation in Springfield Township
Maintaining open space to enhance the quality of life fore residents is a priority of the Springfield Township Board of Trustees. The Township encourages preservation of open space and development of recreational facilities that meet the needs of the entire community.
The Parks Department maintains 15 park and recreation areas totaling 168 acres located throughout the Township. These areas include 21 tee-ball, softball and baseball fields (seasonal), 13 soccer fields (seasonal), 1 football field (seasonal), 4 basketball courts, 3 tennis courts, 2 sand volleyball courts and 7 horseshoe pits. Six of the parks offer picnic shelters that may be reserved by Township residents at no cost. Use of any park facility is free to residents.
Winton Woods Park, voted the Best Park in Hamilton County, anchors the northern border of Springfield Township. Winton Woods features miles of walking and biking trails, nautre paths, a lake, playgrounds and two golf courses. The Hamilton County Park District operates and maintains Winton Woods.
