Springfield Township Arrest and Response Team
The Springfield Township Arrest and Response Team (S.T.A.R.T.) was developed in 1998, to assist the police department in making safe and dynamic entries when serving high-risk search and arrest warrants. The members of this unit were carefully selected and specifically trained to utilize the most current practices and techniques for serving high-risk warrants. The members of the team, in addition to their regularly assigned police duties, receive special training in areas of firearms, use of force, entry and search techniques. Several members of our team are also on the Hamilton County Police Association S.W.A.T. team. During 2006, there were 9 officers assigned to the team.
