About the event: Art Local  will not be any ordinary art show. We are will bring the community together with a two-day celebration of the arts! The Senior and Community Arts Center, located behind the Springfield Township fire station at 9158 Winton Road, will hold artworks from residents of the community and surrounding neighborhoods. On Friday, May 3 the event will kick off with an evening reception with artists and adults in the community. (21 and over event) Wine, cheeses, light appetizers and live music will fill the evening and give neighbors a chance to mingle and enjoy the art. We will unveil the plans for a permanent gallery space, which will be located inside the lobby of the Senior and community Arts Center and we will recognize our sponsor(s). I am an artist: Have you ever wanted to show your artistic talent, but been to intimidated to try? We want to take that fear away by inviting all artists in the community to show up to three pieces of art in the ArtLocal art show. This is a non-jurried show that will celebrate art in all levels of ability. Your art will be on display for two days.

Artist details: If you are interested in showing your art, simply fill out the online application. You will need to know what you plan to show, how large each item is and the medium used. Categories include:original clay or porcelain ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal works, mixed media, painting, photography, print making, sculpture and wood. All art should be prepared, ready to hang. Unframed paintings, drawings, prints (etc.) will not be accepted. If any artwork is deemed inappropriate for children will NOT be on display for the family event on Saturday.

The entry fee for artists registering on or before April 12 is $12. Beginning April 13, the entry is $15. No submissions after May 1. The fees collected support advertising the event and offset the costs associated with the program. Artists may submit up to 3 original works under their entry fee.  The entry fee and a photograph of the art should be mailed or delivered to the Springfield Township Administration office at 9150 Winton Road, Cincinnati OH 45231. Fundraising for Permanent Gallery Space: The Springfield Township Arts and Enrichment Council will be unveiling plans for permanent gallery space in the community. The gallery will be an area where local artists can showcase their work in 3 month installations. Be one of the first to see the proposed designs when they are released at the evening reception on May 3rd.

Personal and business contributions can be made in support of the permanent gallery space. Call Kimberlee Flamm at 522-1410 for details.
