Preserving Open Space

Maintaining open space to enhance the quality of life for residents is a priority of the Springfield Township Board of Trustees. The township encourages preservation of open space and development of recreational facilities that meet the needs of the entire community.

The Public Works Department maintains 11 neighborhood parks and recreation areas, totaling 168 acres located throughout the township. These areas include baseball, soccer fields  and football field space, 4 basketball courts, 3 tennis courts, and 7 horseshoe pits. Six of the parks offer picnic shelters that are available first come, first serve.

Winton Woods, Hamilton County's largest public park and voted the Best Park in Hamilton County, anchors the northern border of Springfield Township. Winton Woods features miles of walking and biking trails, nature paths, a lake, playgrounds, campgrounds and two golf courses. Great Parks of Hamilton County operates and maintains Winton Woods.
