The Springfield Township Police Department is introducing the Voluntary Camera Reporting Program aimed at swiftly resolving crimes. Residents and local business owners are encouraged to report the locations of their security cameras to assist the Police Department in their investigations.
This program is completely voluntary, and does not grant access to your camera. It simply drops a pin on a map so that officers can see where a camera is located, and lets them know who to contact to ask for the camera footage. This data will only be used during criminal investigations or emergencies.
Reporting your cameras takes less than two minutes through our secure online form. Remember, you can modify the permissions at any time. If you do choose to share video evidence, it will become part of a case file; until then, the data remains under the owner’s control.
