[ARCHIVED] Accepting Applications for Full Time Police Officers

Springfield Township Police Department is accepting applications for full-time Police Officers. The hourly pay rate for the position ranges from $29.76 to $40.22 DOQ. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older by the time of appointment, be a High School Graduate or GED equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by Springfield Township’s chosen provider. Candidates must successfully pass a written examination, physical fitness assessment, oral interviews, truth verification, psychological, background, and medical examinations. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and be O.P.O.T.A. Peace Officer certified by time of appointment. 


Applicants currently employed and classified as full-time police officers in the State of Ohio with continuous road patrol experience of at least one year are exempt from participating in the written examination phase. 


Job duties include patrolling the Township, enforcing laws and resolutions, arresting violators, investigating auto accidents and complaints, securing evidence and performing other duties as required. 


Springfield Township Police Department offers its written examination through the National Testing Network, Inc. Applicants need to complete an application and schedule a test at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement, and sign up for Springfield Township Police Department. 


Applicants who meet the criteria for exemption from the written examination phase must complete and submit an application. Applications are available online by visiting www.springfieldtwp.org and searching under the government tab, and job opportunities. 


There is no specific deadline for completing an application or written examination, and the Springfield Township Police Department will continue to accept applications until all available positions have been filled. However, applicants are encouraged to submit their application or complete the written examination as soon as possible as positions will be filled as qualified candidates are identified. The Springfield Township Police Department will begin reviewing applications on Friday February 19, 2021.
